A non-governmental organization (NGO), Registered under Societies Registration Act. XXI of 1860 . Gramin Bikash Samittee which is popularly known as the back bone of the economically, socially, educationally, medically suppressed people i.e. the poor and untraded people(SC/ST, OBC, MOBC)

OBJECTIVES

Gramin Bikash Samittee

The main objectives of the Organization is to provide services for the development of people in the field of development of education, health, agriculture, Women & Child, Youth & Aged, Skill development of Handicrafts and Handicrafts Artisans by creating Handicrafts in big industries in both rural and urban areas irrespective of caste, creed, sex, religion & colors.

GBS engages in a variety of activities aimed at creating meaningful change:

Old Age Home

The organization is running a Senior Citizen Home for 50 elderly Women under the scheme of Atal Vayo Abhyuday Yojana (AVYAY)

Home For Mentally ill

The organization is running a Home for Mentally ill Persons at Dhubri District from organization own sources.

Shelter Home

The Organization has been running a Shelter home for persons engaged in begging (50-bedded) at Dhubri district in Assam since in Inception.

Self-Help Group

Based on the concept of unity & strength our organization came forward to promote the formation of Self-Help Groups in Rowmari and its surrounding villages.

Education

The organization has been conducting another job oriented vocational training in computer application at Rowmari, Dhubri since its inception.

Indigenous Arts and Culture

Cultural Events

Organizing events, exhibitions, and festivals to promote indigenous arts and culture, fostering a sense of pride and belonging among communities.
